If you have the chance of spending the New Year’s Eve in Taiwan, with the crowd very organized, sited and watching the fireworks coming out from the Taipei 101, you will witness a unique and astonishing experience.
If you want to see the fireworks on the top of the Elephant Mountain, then you should get there as soon as possible. There is not much space up there, so it will be full of people very quickly.
On any another day, it will be much easier for you to go up there. Take your time and enjoy the astonishing view.
Things to do in Taipei: Hiking on the Elephant Mountain
Hiking on the Elephant Mountain is one of the best things to do in Taipei.
Located near the metro station of Xiangshan, this 400m hiking trail will take you to the top of the mountain, giving you the feeling that you are side by side to the top of the Taipei 101 building.
Besides being an excellent viewpoint, it’s also a place where local people, especially Taiwanese teenagers like to go there and hang out at the top of the rocks.
To take good photos, try to catch the sunset and stay there till the nightfall. You will see the Taipei City and 101 reborn into a colorful game of lights, with the clouds passing by its top.
